Preamble
Rajbari ZiIla Badhir Unnyan O Kalyanmulok Shangha is a Deaf Peoples Organization (DPO) working in Rajbari district of Bangladesh. The organization was established in 1999 and involved 20 persons with hearing and speech disabilities, with support from the Bangladesh National Federation of the Deaf (BNFD). Now, the organization has a total of 78 members, among them 66 male and 12 female. The organization implements its activities ensure equal participation of men and women with disabilities.
According to the organization's bylaws, there are 78 members in its General Committee, and seven members are in the Executive Committee. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.
Besides, the organization strives for partnerships with mainstreaming organizations to ensure Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
